Wong voyageait avec son mari, ils étaient en Californie. Alors que son mari remplissait le réservoir, Wong a remarqué un petit chien reniflant autour de la voiture.
“I saw her walking around the gas station, and she stopped in front of our car and was just staring at me,” Wong told The Dodo. “And I’m hitting my hand on the window, trying to get my husband’s attention, like, ‘Are you seeing this?’ Then she started following my husband around the car”.
Wong a demandé aux habitants de la région si ce chien avait un propriétaire, mais il s’est avéré qu’il n’avait pas de lieu de résidence permanent. Wong a donné de l’eau et de la nourriture au chien. Le chien était si reconnaissant pour l’action de la femme. Il était sûrement soit négligé, soit sans abri.
Wong et son mari ont nommé le chien Kaya elle l’a emmenée en croisière avec eux jusqu’à ce qu’elle lui trouve un abri.
“My husband slept in the car with her the first night, and she was just scared, nervous and timid,” Wong said. “The only thing she would do was eat»․
Pendant ce temps, le chien est devenu très proche de cette famille, il était avec eux partout. Wong l’a emmenée pour un test, et ses vaccinations ont commencé. Il était tellement attaché aux autres animaux de la maison qu’ils semblaient toujours être ensemble. Il s’habituait de plus en plus.
“Her personality at first was very timid, scared, unsure of herself and not confident,” Wong said. “But her personality now is lovey, snuggly, cuddly, attached at your hip. You can’t even go into another room because she’s there with you.”
“I tell people she’s the best dog I’ve ever had,” Wong said.
